Renewable Energy Production in the United States

Nationwide Patterns of Solar, Wind, Hydro, Geothermal, and Nuclear Power

Using data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), this map depicts how many megawatts of electricty are generated by solar farms (orange), wind farms (white), dams (blue), geothermal power plants (green), and nuclear power plants (red) in the United States. According to the EIA, slightly more than one-fifth of the nation's annual energy production now comes from renewable sources. Click on the markers to see each facility's capacity.
